“Grippo studied chemistry and visual arts and design at the prestigious Universidad de la Plata in Buenos Aires. His early work reflects these influences, which gradually developed into a study of labor and its transformative powers. Transformation through alchemy is Grippo’s metaphorical model for synthesizing and articulating his work; he sees the artist as a present-day incarnation of the medieval alchemist, trying to transform individuals and society.”
