Recent scholarship on Norman Lewis included, Norman Lewis:’How to Get Black’, by Ann Eden Gibson, a text in Cosmopolitan Modernisms, one of the books in Kobena Mercer’s Annotating Art’s Histories series. Norman Lewis’s Mumbo Jumbo, 1950 was reproduced as part of Abstract Expressionism and Third World Art: A Post-colonial Approach to ‘American’ Art, by David Craven, in  Discrepant Abstraction, Copublished by inIVA and MIT Press, 2006, another volume in the Annotating Art’s Histories series.
