The following biographical sketch appeared in the catalogue Artists of the Western Hemisphere | Art of Haiti and Jamaica, Art Gallery, Center for Inter-American Relations, 600 Park Avenue, New York, N.Y., October 10 - 27, 1968
“St. Brice was brought up by Maître Turnbull of the Anglican Church. He started painting in 1949 at the suggestion of the American painter, Alex John, who introduced him to the Centre d’Art. St Brice has developed a very personal style of painting, using large masses of usually dark color, not definitely outlined. In general his subject matter tends to be religious or based on spiritial or emotional insight. He finds fulfilment in his art; it leaves him happy. He has both children and grandchildren.”
