The following biographical sketch appeared in the catalogue Artists of the Western Hemisphere | Art of Haiti and Jamaica, Art Gallery, Center for Inter-American Relations, 600 Park Avenue, New York, N.Y., October 10 - 27, 1968

“Bazile made his first painting in 1945. It was at once acquired by the Centre d’Art and before long Bazile became a full-time painter. In 1955 he won First Grand Prize in the Caribbean international competition organized by Alcoa and, in 1957, the special $1,000 first prize in the international exhibition sponsored by “Holiday” magazine. A meticulous painter with a small production, Bazile is one of the most “collected” of Haitian artists. He is represented by three murals in the Episcopal diocese of Haiti.”
